BEFORE THE MUSIC STARTS
Make the words sound like you.
A good edit does not need a clever rhyme. It needs the right name, one recognizable memory, and something you would actually say.
01 / FIND THE PERSONAL DETAIL
Trade a big compliment for a small memory.
Original fictional writing example. These words were written for this guide; they are not a customer story, generated song, or audio transcript.
The first draft
You Are My Everything
Mia, you light up every day You always chase the clouds away You mean more than words can say Forever, you will lead the way
A more personal edit
The Scenic Route
Maya, that rain came through our tent We laughed at how the weekend went You saved the last warm coffee for me The scenic route is where I want to be
Keep the right name.
Mia becomes Maya. Check nicknames and who is speaking before you worry about rhyme. Written guidance cannot guarantee the way an AI voice pronounces a name.
Choose a scene they know.
The leaking tent and last warm coffee give this fictional couple something to recognize. Replace these with your own truthful details.
Keep your meaning, not every rhyme.
A simpler line in your own voice is better than a neat rhyme that changes the story. Read the verse aloud and shorten anything that feels awkward.
02 / MAKE THREE CAREFUL PASSES
Facts first
Check names, relationships, ages and who the song is from. If the song says “we,” make sure that is the voice you want.
Then your voice
Replace a generic compliment with a memory or phrase you share. Keep the tone right for the person, without inventing experiences.
Then the final read
Read every line aloud. Remove sensitive details, unintended teasing and words you would not want on a gift page. Recheck the full draft after an AI rewrite.
03 / TRY IT HERE
A quiet place to try an edit.
Start with the fictional example or clear it and use your own words. This is a practice worksheet, not Songifted’s song editor.
04 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP
Bring the story. Review the song.
If you have not started a song, use the story template to prepare your memories. If you already have a Songifted draft, open it in your account and make changes there before confirming music generation.
These links open another Songifted page in a new tab. This worksheet does not transfer your text, create a song, or use credits. Copy or download anything you want to keep first.
A few useful boundaries
Does this worksheet write or sing a song?
No. It is a local writing exercise. It does not call an AI model, create audio or connect to a song draft.
Can I edit a song after the music starts?
No. Songifted locks title and lyric editing once audio generation begins. Review all words and confirm only when you are ready.
Will my copied lyrics automatically become a song?
No. This page has no submission or import connection. Songifted starts from your story and gives you a lyric review step before music generation. Use the controls shown in your actual draft.
Should I include private details to make it more personal?
Choose details you are comfortable sharing. Song lyrics and the gift-page message may be seen by people with the gift link. Leave sensitive family, medical and workplace information out.
